The internal compartment is lined with food grade plastic so no metal/aluminium component can come into contact with the food powders. These top of the line pouches provide the best protection from micro-oxygen, moisture and light transmission through the wall of the pouch, all of which diminish the quality of superfood powders over time.
Even though more 'natural' looking brown pouches look more organic and natural (in fact, they're usually comprised of sprayed paper over the top of plastic) they do not provide the same level of protection due to being extremely porous to these degrading factors and therefore reduce the potency, quality and shelf-life of the product. In turn, this has been shown to increase the overall carbon footprint due to the inputs required to grow/produce more of that food.

*You can see that the amount of water and oxygen that will transmit into the packaging is very low with foil, preserving the quality and potency of the product.

New Zealand orders over NZ$100 are freight-free.
Order values under $100 incur a flat shipping fee country-wide of NZ$6.50 (no extra charge for Rural Delivery).
Depending on the time of day your order is placed, we strive to have your order delivered to you within 1- 3 working days. However, please note that there are times when the postal service is at capacity and delivery times may be extended. Rural delivery can also take 1-2 working days longer.
Orders over NZ$150.00 qualify for free shipping.
Order values under $150 incur a flat shipping fee of $15.
Expected delivery time is 3- 5 working days unless there are issues beyond our control. Orders are shipped via DHL.
Middle East tracked NZ$45.00.
Rest of the world tracked NZ$35.00.
International orders are shipped via DHL. Expected delivery time is 5-10 working days for most destinations, however, it can be 10-14 working days for more remote locations. We also reserve the right to charge additional shipping fees depending on the weight, volume and delivery location for your order. We will contact you to confirm shipping costs before processing your order if this is the case.
International orders may attract local customs taxes or duties on arrival to your country. These taxes/duties are required to be paid by the purchaser and are not the responsibility of Matakana Superfoods. No refunds will be issued for orders where tax/duties remain unpaid by the purchaser. Please check with your local customs agency regarding the tax/duty likely to be charged prior to ordering.
Matakana Superfoods is open 5 days a week, Mon-Fri. All orders placed over the weekend will be processed the next working day.
When you place an order you have the opportunity to state instructions for the courier to leave the parcel somewhere on your property. Please note that you do this at your own risk and there is no way to claim your goods should they not arrive, or are stolen.
Once your order has been processed and dispatched from our website we are unable to intercept the parcel, so please ensure the contents of your order are correct at purchase and that the correct address and delivery details have been included at checkout.

Cancellations, Returns and Refund Policy
1. We will provide a full refund or replacement (at your election) if the quality of goods delivered is unacceptable (proof may be required). This is on the condition that you contact us within 24 hours of receiving the goods either by phone or email (to be obtained from the website). We recommend you check the contents of your parcel prior to signing the courier.
2. Before returning any goods, the customer must contact MATAKANA SUPERFOODS by phone or email (to be obtained from the website).
3. We do not accept cancellations once your order has been handed to our courier for delivery.
4. We do not provide refunds for change of mind returns.
5. All eligible refund requests will be processed within 30 days.
6. Subject to the terms above, we are happy to refund or replace any item requested within 30 days of delivery.
