Easy Beetroot Hummus

Serves 8


400g can chickpeas
1 tablespoon tahini paste
2 tablespoons lemon juice
4 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon crushed garlic
3 teaspoons organic beetroot powder
1 teaspoon coconut nectar or maple syrup


  1. Drain and rinse chickpeas and add to a food processor along with the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth (1-2 T of water may be added to reach desired consistency)
  2. Scoop into a serving bowl and serve with pita bread, carrot sticks or spread on toast or crackers.
